Dear Members of the Pittsfield School Committee,
I'm writing to you in support of the Bus Drivers/Monitors, Cafeteria Workers, Custodians, Paraprofessionals, and Educational Secretaries who work for the
Pittsfield Public Schools and their request for a salary adjustment and wage increase.
These Support Staff employees go to work each day with one goal in mind - providing the best possible learning experience for the children of Pittsfield.
These employees are committed to dignity and respect for our students and all employees of the Pittsfield Public Schools. They are devoted to their families and our community, and we proudly stand with them and support their demand for social justice and economic fairness.
I want the Pittsfield School Committee and the City of Pittsfield to do more than just listen to their demands. I expect you to act on them!
The wages currently paid to our dedicated Support Staff employees are unreasonable and border on oppressive. This needs to end now!
I want the Pittsfield School Committee immediately implement the request for a salary adjustment and increase in wages so that the Support Staff can properly provide for their families.
I need you – our elected officials do what is right for these families and our community!
